Foundation Module

Helping learners return to the student mindset and further prepare for studying at level 7. Learners will assess their competency in a range of knowledge, skills and behaviours and complete a personal and professional development plan.

Strategy in Education

Learners will explore theoretical approaches to shaping organisations vision, culture and values and develop a critical understanding of organisational structure and approaches to business modelling. This module also develops critical knowledge of strategies for continuous improvement.

People Management and Development in Education

Learners study methods of leadership and management of people within organisations including approaches to talent management and people development, critically evaluating their utility and application to their context in education.

Innovation and Change in Education

This module considers approaches to innovation including creativity, intrapreneurial and entrepreneurial behaviour and enterprise development. During this module learners will critically evaluate approaches to executing and evaluating change while also developing their understanding of the importance of influencing and negotiating as part of this process

Finance, Governance and Risk in Education

Approaches to operations are explored and critically analysed, including the management of resources and operations: the supply chain, procurement, logistics, quality systems, and project management.

Module: Research methods and project

During their Research Project learners critically evaluate their learning from the programme and have the opportunity to conduct research and enquiry into leadership and management issues, rigorously applying this knowledge to their individual context and setting. Work in this module also feeds into learners completion of the apprenticeship qualification where they can use the findings and conclusions to inform the Strategic Business Proposal element of their End Point Assessment to bring about change and development in their organisation.

The Experience

Prior to Covid-19 the NCE has always focused on selecting venues to ensure that our learners will feel relaxed as they are removed from the daily demands placed upon them. The environment brings the time and space to absorb, reflect and fully digest the extensive content delivered throughout. During the past year we have strived to create engaging online events that deliver as much of the same approach as possible. As the situation develops we will aim to get back to meeting in our exceptional venues and delivering for our learners.
