The course outline

The leadership education on this Diploma programme is inspired by our guiding principles of servant leadership, coaching, performance achievement and leading outstanding teaching and learning.

Module 1 – Leading people

Delivering the essential management and leadership skills required to fulfil the challenging but rewarding role of leading people and teams.

Module 2 – Personal Effectiveness and Decision Making

Learning how to be self-aware and building a professional profile through management of self – supported by online tools and coaching-style delivery

Module 3 – Operational Management

Evaluating the impact of structure and governance on management and leadership to ensure operational efficience is achieved.

Module 4 – Finance

Supporting learners to understand the principles of setting and managing budgets in line with school and regulatory guidelines. Includes a review of a live school budget.

Module 5 – Project Management

Providing learners with a deep understanding of how to manage projects including risk assessments in the live context of a change management project.

Module 6 - Managing People

Providing a deep understanding of techniques for how to manage people across a school and with a number of stakeholders.

Module 7 - Building Relationships

Exploring the types and purposes of stakeholder relationships and the skills required to overcome challenges and manage these effectively.

Our guidelines for course eligibility are as follows:

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above
