The new way for teachers to get a Masters

The Education Research Masters' is an 18-month, part-time programme which allows you to achieve from the comfort of your own learning environment, researching a topic important to YOU.

The programme has been designed to meet the needs of teachers in 2021, with twilight workshops, online tutor groups and a realistic 18-month completion time as key features built in.

Module 1
Foundation 
Module

This module is designed to prepare you for studying at level 7 whether this is after a break in learning or for the first time ever.

Module 2
Research
Methods Module

This module starts the process of engaging you in research and helps you to prepare your project proposal and dissertation. The module runs from July to August and includes two online quizzes.

Module 3
Project
Proposal Module

This module begins work on your project, will enhance your research skills and begin the process of you developing a research project that will help to build your career and support the profession’s engagement with evidence.

Module 4
Research Project Module

This involves you learning about a specific topic within the field of education by conducting a substantial research project. This project can use qualitative, quantitative or mixed research methodologies and will combine both primary and secondary research sources. This module requires you to gain a deeper understanding of the chosen project topic and combine these with the skills learnt on the Research Methods module to produce an original piece of research.
